Dolls played by adults can be therapeutic for adults. This article focuses on the therapeutic properties of adult dolls and the dimensions of these games. We also look at symbolism and self-perception. These are the research goals:

Dimensions for play with dolls of adult age

The therapeutic value of adult doll play is attributed to the connections that collectors form with their dolls. These interactions reflect the tendency of humans to seek comfort and connection through touch, and reflect the process of forming bonds in social relationships. This theory suggests that these interactions may also foster bonding. The aspects of adult doll play are crucial in understanding the emotional psychological, and social aspects of collectors. In this article, I’ll explore some of these dimensions.

The self-perception questionnaire was used to gather information about people’s identity and personality. The questionnaire contained 10 items scored on seven-point scales. The purpose of the questionnaire was to measure participants’ fantasy playing perceptions and relationships with other people. Participants completed the survey by clicking a link on the Google Form. Consent forms were required to be filled out to participate. After participants had signed their consent, they were asked to rate the items on the questionnaire.

Participants reported significant interactions with their dolls and evaluated their interpretations and stories on a scale of 7 points. Participants were also asked to fill out four questionnaires on their motivations, their perceptions of doll play and their self-perceptions. The data collected were analysed using principal component factor analyses.

Therapeutic properties
